🟢 Calcium
After calving, calcium demand rises sharply due to the onset of milk production. Calcium supports muscle contraction (important for the uterus and digestive tract), nerve transmission, and bone metabolism. A deficiency may lead to milk fever (hypocalcemia).

🟢 Phosphorus
Phosphorus is vital for energy metabolism (ATP), bone development, and enzyme function. In transition cows, it supports appetite, fertility, and milk yield. Together with calcium, it maintains mineral balance.

🟢 Nicotinic Acid (Niacin)
Niacin plays a key role in energy metabolism as part of NAD/NADP coenzymes. In dairy cows, it helps regulate fat mobilization, thereby lowering the risk of ketosis. It also improves blood circulation and reduces metabolic stress post-calving.

🟢 Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative stress. It strengthens the immune system and lowers the risk of mastitis and uterine infections. Requirements are particularly high during the transition period.

🟢 Zinc
Zinc is important for wound healing, hoof health, and skin integrity. It supports enzyme activity, reproduction, and immune function. In freshly calved cows, zinc promotes tissue repair (e.g., uterus and udder).

🟢 Magnesium
Magnesium is essential for nerve and muscle function and improves calcium availability. A deficiency may contribute to tremors, subclinical milk fever, or grass tetany. Supplementation around calving helps prevent metabolic disorders.

🟢 Potassium Chloride
Potassium supports fluid and electrolyte balance, muscle function, and acid–base regulation. After calving, it can help restore hydration and energy balance, especially if the cow suffers from reduced feed intake or dehydration.
